Weekly Class for Sisters: Learn how to read the Quran

Held Mondays from 10 am – 11:30 am at ICBC, this class is the basics of reading the Quran to sisters in our community. The class is conducted by a sister in our community.

Weekly Halaqa for Sisters in Arabic

Held every Wednesday from 10:30 am –  2 pm, this class is specifically catered towards sisters who wish to focus on studying the Quran with Tajweed, memorize some surahs and understand Quran Tafseer. This program is conducted in Arabic.


Weekly Sisters’ Quran Tafseer Class

Sheikh Yassir Fazaga offers a weekly Quran Tafseer Class for our sisters. Held on Thursdays from 10 am – 11:30 am, this class is conducted in English.


Weekly “History of Islamic jurisprudence” course

Sheikh Yassir Fazaga conducts a weekly course for adults. Held on Thursday after Isha prayers, this is a course is geared towards an understanding of Islamic jurisprudence and is open to men, women and teens.

Weekly Qur’an Tafseer class for adults

The Qur’an tafseer class is conducted every Saturday after Fajr at ICBC, by our Imam, Sheikh Yassir Fazaga. Open to men, women, and children, this program is geared to teach attendees the historical context of the revelations and the meaning of the Holy Qur’an.

Ramadan programs – Taraweeh and Qiyaam-al-Layl prayers, Iftar and Sahoor meals, I’tekaf

Taraweeh prayers are led by reputed Huffaz/Qari of the Holy Qur’an visiting our masjid during the blessed month of Ramadan. Assisting them in prayers are youth Huffaz in our community. Recitation of the entire Qur’an is usually completed on the 27th or 29th night of Ramadan.

Qiyaam Al-Layl prayers are led during the last 10 nights by the visiting hafiz. Often attended by more than 100 men, women, and children, the prayers are followed by Sahoor meals provided at the masjid. Iftar/dinner, sponsored by generous community members, are offered during the weekends. Few community members observe I’tekaf at ICBC during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Monthly Guest Lectures

Held on the first Friday of every month, the goal of the guest lecture program is to educate the community on a range of interesting yet important subjects related to our daily lives. Visiting scholars from within Austin and outside, offer lectures on topics ranging from the spiritual to the mundane.

In our communities, often times, psychological or mental health problems  are not acknowledged, accepted, or addressed. The purpose of our counseling service is to remove the taboo attached to such issues, and to instead promote discussion. We offer general counseling that aims to promote the well being of the body and mind, as well as an Islamic aspect that caters to the soul and spiritual development.  Details are here.
