Ramadhan 2016 at ICBC

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh!

Allah (swt) has given us yet another opportunity to welcome the blessed month of Ramadan in our lives, Alhamdu lillah! This will be the 9th Ramadan at ICBC. Below is a list of programs and activities planned at ICBC during the blessed month, Inshaa Allah.

Sahih International
The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. (Qur’an 2:185)

Sahih International
O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous. (Qur’an 2:183)

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadhan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadhan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven (Bukhari, Muslim).

This year, we are once again blessed to have the services of Hafiz Faizullah Bhayat from Darul Uloom Bury, United Kingdom, who will lead taraweeh prayers at ICBC. He will be assisted by youth huffaz from our community Abdullah Mohseen and Luqman Haroon. We plan to complete recitation of the Holy Qur‘an on the 29th night of Ramadhan, Insha Allah.

July 1st                                                     Hafiz Faizullah Bhayat

Hafiz Faizullah will offer short khatera every day after Fajr sala’at, Insha Allah.

Every year, few brothers have observed I’tekaf at ICBC during the last 10 days of Ramadhan. We encourage community members to plan to participate in this Ibaadah.

We will have community Iftar/dinners sponsored by generous community members every Saturday and Sunday.  Those interested in sponsoring Iftar at ICBC may sign their names at the Iftar Sign-Up Sheet posted at the ICBC Bulletin Board.  Further details for sponsoring Iftar are available at the Sign-Up sheet

During the last 10 nights, we will have Qiyaam al-Layl prayers.  Members can bring their own Sahoor meals to ICBC.

As in prior years, we will conduct a quiz contest for youth during Ramadan.

We will hold an Iftar program for youth boys, led by Hafiz Faizullah, every Saturday starting at 6 PM.

An Iftar program for youth girls will be held every Sunday starting at 6 PM.

Additional details will be provided during the week, InShaaAllah.

Hafiz Faizullah will teach Qur’an recitation to our children during weekdays between Asr and Maghrib, Insha Allah.  Interested parents are requested to bring their children to ICBC at Asr time. Start date will be announced during the coming week, Insha Allah.

The following is the work that has been under taken at our masjid in preparation for Ramadan, Alhamdu lillah.

  • Renovation of the bathrooms for Sisters;
  • Installation of tents for additional prayer space for both Men and Sisters; and
  • Pest control at the premises.

The tents will increase prayer capacity by approx. 50 people in the Men’s and Sisters’ prayer areas.  This will meet our short-term needs as we wait a couple of years until the new masjid is built, Insha’Allah.

With the completion of the parking lot construction, we can accommodate ~230 vehicles, Alhamdu lillah.  Please park in the parking spots only and avoid parking in the no-parking zones.

Since the parking lot lighting work is pending, we will install temporary lighting as in previous years.

As in prior years, we will hold fundraisers during Ramadan to raise funds for masjid operations and to execute the Master Plan; as always, we continue to count on your support of our masjid.

We need volunteers to assist with various activities in Ramadan, especially during the weekends.  If you are interested in volunteering at ICBC, please call (512) 850-4786 or email us at info@icbrushycreek.org

It is only by the Grace of Allah (swt) and the overwhelming support of the community that we have been able to continue the various programs and activities at ICBC.  The services being offered could not have been possible without your dua’a, financial support, and feedback.  We humbly request your continued support during this blessed month.  May Allah (swt) accept our Ibaadah and grant us His Paradise, Aameen!

Jazakum Allahu Khairan
