Ramadan 1440 (2019) at ICBC

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh!

O You who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for You as it was prescribed for those before you, that You may become Al-Muttaqûn (the pious – see V.2:2)

— Qur’an [2:183]

The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allâh In that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months)

— Qur’an [97:3]

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven (Bukhari, Muslim).

We will have community Iftar/dinners sponsored by generous community members every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those interested in sponsoring Iftar at ICBC may sign their names at the Iftar Sign-Up Sheet posted at the ICBC Bulletin Board.

As in previous years, Sahoor meals will be provided during the last 10 days, sponsored by community members.

In the spirit of environmental conservation, ICBC will provide drinking water though water coolers instead of individual water bottles. We encourage the community members to bring their own reusable water bottles.

During the blessed month, our youth girls will conduct bake sale during weekends to raise funds, to donate for the new Masjid construction and to fund the various activities for the troop throughout the year.

We plan to hold the following activities during Ramadan, Insha Allah:

  • Hafiz Faizullah will teach Qur’an to young boys and girls on Saturdays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. interested parents are encouraged to bring their children at that time.

ICBC has contracted with a local security firm to provide security at our Center during Friday Jumu’ah prayer times and Weekend Islamic School hours (on Sundays) as well as during Taraweeh prayers, Iftar (Fridays through Sundays) and Tahajjud prayer times. Additionally, the Cedar Park Police department has also increased surveillance at our premises throughout the day.  May Allah (swt) protect us all, Aameen.

We are also in the process of securing quotes to construct a fence along the Brushy Creek Road side of our premises.

Whereas we are blessed with approx. 230 parking spaces at our Center, a section of the parking lot is being used to store the steel for the new Masjid frame.  The entire area is deemed a construction zone and hence off limits for all but authorized personnel only.  Please avoid this area and we also urge all parents to ensure they keep their children out of the construction zone.

The new masjid construction is going at full pace, Alhamdu lillah, with an expected completion in 3-4 months, Insha Allah.  We will conduct fundraisers in this blessed month towards the ongoing Masjid construction.

It is only by the Grace of Allah (swt) and the overwhelming support of the community that we have been able to continue the various programs and activities at ICBC. The services being offered could not have been possible without your dua’a, financial support, and feedback. The Executive Board humbly requests your continued support as we embark on an ambitious plan for our beloved Center.

May Allah (swt) accept our Ibaadah and grant us His Paradise, Aameen!

Jazak Allah Khairan
