Youth Programs

“STRUGGLING TO BE…” 

Young Muslims in the U.S. have their unique set of demands that are often distinct from that of Muslim adults.  They need proactive support to stay strong in their faith and identity.  Towards this end, ICBC is offering a 5-week camp geared towards our youth.

When: Every Sunday starting October 15, 2017
Time: After Dhuhr salah
Venue: ICBC
Duration: 5 weeks (October 15 – November 12)
Target audience: High School Students (boys and girls), 14 years and older
Teacher: Sheikh Yassir Fazaga

This program is intended to help participants meet every day challenges that will help in (1) asserting their faith, (2) living their values and (3) exercising courage in face of adversity.

Girls Halaqa & Hangout

Every Saturday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
A comprehensive program for girls to strengthen their Aqeedah and Deen.
Target Audience: Teen Girls

 

Girls-only programs

This program seeks to impart the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah and attempt to connect these precepts to their daily lives. This includes, but is not limited to, interaction with their peers in school, interaction with parents and family and finally to the community at large. The program is held bi-weekly on Saturday afternoons.

Girl Scouts

The Girls Scout program follows the charter of the Girl Scouts organization and is run by sisters in the community. Divided into different age groups, the charter is to inculcate and reinforce the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah through the mechanisms and activity based approach pioneered by the Scouts organization.

Weekly Girls’ Halaqa

To strengthen the Aqeedah and Deen and to reinforce the Islamic Identity, the halaqa engages the students and helps them reflect on the message of the Holy Qur’an using Tafsir Ibn Kathir. The halaqa also covers various aspects of Salah using the book, The Prophet’s Prayer Described, by Sheikh Nasir-ud-Deen Al Albani as well as Islamic Studies books by Bilal Philips. The halaqa is conducted by Sr. Hella Cloyd and is held bi-weekly on Saturday afternoons.
