Zakah Al Fitr

Assalam Alaikum. Apropos of current situation, ICBC is collecting Zaka Al Fitr thru the online portal. Zakat Al Fitr is $15 per person. We strongly urge our community members to pay their Zakat Al Fitr as early as possible to enable ICBC Executive Board to distribute the money to those in need before Eid day. Zakat al Fitr is compulsory upon every self-supporting adult Muslim who has food in excess of their needs, on behalf of themselves and their dependents.

Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:

“The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordained Zakat al Fitr [Fitrana] to purify the fasting person from indecent words or actions, and to provide food for the needy. It is accepted as Zakat for the person who gives it before the Eid prayer; but it is a mere Sadaqah for the one who gives it after the prayer.” [Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah]

Please use the following donation portal. Select “Fitrah” from the category, and add your name and Phrase “For Zakat-ul-Fitr” in the Notes.
There is a fee charged per each donation by the vendor, so we humbly request you to include that fee in the final amount. Jazakallahu Khairan!
